American Horror Story Season 7 Will Be Based on 2016 Election

It's become an ingenious part of American Horror Story's marketing to dangle the subject of each new season in front of fans before making a big reveal - so imagine the surprise right now when show creator Ryan Murphy made a very nonchalant reveal about subject of the upcoming American Horror Season 7.
Hold onto your heads folks, because things are about to get political (gasp!).

Oh boy.
Needless to say, this is a decision on Murphy's part that is sure to make headlines - no matter what. Whether the storyline has a clear bias, or tries instead tries to frame the entire political climate as something monstrous, a lot of people are going to probably feel a little bit of sting, as the subject of the 2016 US presidential election is still (obviously) an incredibly turbulent one, for people all over the world.
...But hey, it could also be ratings gold. Can't wait to see which of the regular actors from the show get cast in which roles. Please let Sarah Paulson play the Kelleyanne Conway-type character!

Truthfully, the challenges with this may pile up fast:
- Trying to keep up with the stranger-than-fiction headlines and actions of the current administration.
- Not getting lost in the sea of newly-inspired political satires or commentaries no doubt on the way, already.
- Trying to avoid the president's barrage of tweets, when he sees how he is portrayed. (Yeah, that's now a real concern...)
Finally, Murphy confirmed to Vanity Fair that the Murder House / Coven crossover season is still going to happen - just not yet.
