The first synopsis for Blade Runner 2049 has been released. The brief plot description offers some new clues as to the role of Rick Deckard, the protagonist of the original Blade Runner who is played by Harrison Ford, in the new film.

Here's the synopsis, which was found on the film's Facebook page:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Just how much screentime Harrison Ford has in Blade Runner 2049 remains unclear, but Ford did reveal that the film's production went on for months without his presence, suggesting a restrained use of his character.
