Catch All of These Amazing Simpson/Pokemon Mashups

A clever graphic designer has found a way to merge the worlds of Pokemon and The Simpsons. Nick Thompson, a graphic designer working out of London, England, has released a line of Simpsons/Pokemon mashup merchandise on his "Thumbs Design" etsy page. For just a few bucks, you can catch creatures like a Barney Venusaur, a Mr. Burns Charizard, or a Bart Pikachu.

Thompson designed over 20 different Pokemon/Simpsons mashups, each featuring his take on Simpsons characters as Pokemon. Some mashups (like the Frank Grimes Grimer) are plays on the characters' names, but others use Pokemon that match the characters' personalities.

Our favorite Simpsons/Pokemon is definitely the Maude Flanders version of Gastly, which is a wink to the character's demise way back in 2000. There's also a great Arcanine/Groundskeeper Willie mashup, which shows the poor Scotsman as a noble and proud Pokemon....something he'll never experience on the show.

Thumbs Design is even selling a series of specialized Pokemon cards, featuring unique attacks and images of the characters. "Homertoise", for instance, can use the Duff Beer Swirl to attack opposing Pokemon or the Nap Time attack to put opposing Pokemon to sleep.

Thompson appears to specialize in Simpsons mashup merchandise, as his website features a variety of different Simpsons-themed merchandise. A quick tour of his site showed pins, stickers, and t-shirts featuring the Simpsons as characters from Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, and The Mighty Ducks. There's also some non-Simpsons merchandise for sale as well, featuring Star Wars and Pokemon designs.

We've assembled some of our favorite Simpsons/Pokemon mashups in the photo gallery below, and be sure to check out Thompson's website and Etsy page for more designs. Pins are only a few dollars a piece and would be a perfect Christmas present for the Simpsons and Pokemon fan in your life.
