Game of Thrones Crash-Lands a Dragon in NYC Promotion for Season 5 Blu-ray

Game of Thrones season 5 is out today on Blu-ray, and a dragon has escaped from Westeros, crash-landing in NYC. It's part of a pair of promotions in the city surrounding the release.

The landing site is in Union Square, where a pair of Dragon prints can be seen in front of rubble, broken benches and lightposts, and more wreckage. There's still smoke drifting from the crash site, too - showing just how much damage a dragon can do, even just while harmlessly landing.

Later Tuesday, HBO will bring the "Dance of Dragons" 20-minute animated featurette to Herald Square for a special outdoor screening, capped off by a dragon flying over the city. The dragon will visit other cities across the country in the meantime. The crash site is setup until 9pm EDT in NYC, so get over today if you want to see it for yourself. Rumor has it there may be another special guest - besides the dragon - at tonight's screening.

Game of Thrones season 5 is on Blu-ray now, and Season 6 premieres April 24, 2016 only on HBO.
