Game Of Thrones Earns Second Guinness World Record

Game of Thrones is once again being recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records, entering the 2016 edition for "Largest TV drama simulcast."

The record is for the simulcast of Season 5 Episode 2, "The House of Black and White." The episode broadcast in 173 countries simultaneously when it premiered earlier this year, beating out the record of 171 countries set by CSI just five weeks earlier.

Considering the episode's focus on Arya Stark, it seems appropriate that actress Maisie Williams was the one to accept the award on behalf of the HBO series.

"I'm so pleased for Game of Thrones to be a part of Guinness World Records," Williams said. "I'm going to tell my step brother as he gets the book every year for Christmas. I can't wait to see the look on his face!"

This is the second induction into the Guinness Book of World Records for Game of Thrones, which has held the much more dubious record of "Most pirated television program" since 2012.

Game of Thrones will return for Season 6 on HBO in 2016.
