Game of Thrones has officially received a season seven order from HBO, days before season six premieres on the network, they announced Thursday. The critically acclaimed series has been promoting the season premiere, Sunday April 24, as a "TV event," though it's one shrouded in secrecy.

The renewal isn't exactly a surprise for the multiple Emmy-winner, as there's simply more story to tell, and the showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have already talked about a season 7 - possibly even a shorter one split with an even shorter season 8. No episode count was officially announced, but each season so far (including season six) has been 10 episodes long.

HBO also renewed Veep and Silicon Valley for season six and four, respectively. Those shows also have their season premieres on Sunday.
