Game Of Thrones Season 6 Episode 5: The Door Recap With Spoilers

Sansa is sowing a gown when she receives a message from the Eyrie. She asks how far Mole's Town is.
Sansa goes to Mole's Town, accompanied by Brienne, and meets Littlefinger. He says that he feared the worst for her, and that he rode north to come to her aid. He says the knights of the Vale are at Moat Cailin. Sansa asks if he knew about Ramsay, saying he's either stupid or her enemy. She asks Petyr what he thinks Ramsay did to her and demands an answer. She says she can still feel what Ramsay did, and that she doesn't believe Littlefinger can protect her. Littlefinger says he'll beg for his life if that's what she wants, that he'll die if that's what she wants, or anything that she desires. Sansa tells him to go back to Moat Cailin, that she and Jon will take back the North without him and that she never wants to see him again. He offers information, telling her that the Blackfish has taken back Riverrun and amassed all forces loyal to the Tullys. That would be an army loyal to her rather than to Jon.
Arya and the Waif spar. The Waif defeats Arya, and she tells Arya she's not ready and that she should og home before it is too late. Arya gets back up. The Waif drops her staff and takes on Arya barehanded, dodging every strike, disarming Arya, and knocking Arya out of the ring. The Waif says "Lady Stark" will never be one of them. Jaqen is standing in the doorway and says the Waif has a point.
IN the Hall of Faces, Jaqen tells Arya of the history of the Faceless Men. The first learned to give the gift and change his face in the mines of Valyria. He taught others, and eventually all of the masters were killed. The Faceless Me came to Braavos. Jaqen gives Arya a mission, a woman named Lady Crane.
Arya watches a play about the death of Robert Baratheon. She is upset the bumbling portrayal of Ned Stark, though the crowd finds it amusing. In the play, Ned demands the Iron Throne after Robert dies, but Tyrion betrays him. A mock Sansa begs Joffrey and Cersei to have mercy on Ned. Joffrey is about to agree when the execution lops off Ned's head. The play moves on to Tyrion being appointed as the hand to the King and marrying Sansa against her will.
Arya goes back stage, where Lady Crane, who played Cersei, is drinking rum. Arya returns to the Hall of Black and White and tells Jaqen she plans to poison the rum. She asks to use a face from the hall, but Jaqen says that she's no ready. Arya points out that Lady Crane is a decent woman and wonders who wants her dead, but the Jaqen says this is not how a servant of the Many-Faced God thinks.
The Three-Eyed Raven and Bran are seeing a vision of the past. A group of Children of the Forest before a ritual on a man tied to a stone outside a Weirwood tree. They stab him through the heart and e becomes a White Walker. Leaf tells Bran they needed the White Walkers because they were losing the war against man.
At the Kingsmoot, Yara makes her case to become Queen of the Iron Islands. She's cut off by someone pointed out that a male heir, Theon, has returned. Theon claims Yara is the rightful ruler, and gives a rousing speech on her behalf. Euron makes himself known and claims the Salt Throne for himself. He mocks Theon. Yara asks when Euron returned, and he says just a few days ago. Yara accuses Euron of killing Balon. Euron admits it, saying Balon was leading them nowhere, and no one loved him anyway. Theon accuses him of being absent from the Iron Islands for too long. Euron claims his time away has given him experience and knowledge. He proposes sailing to Daenerys Targaryen, marrying her, and providing her with a fleet to take Westeros. The Ironborn chant in Euron's name. The Damphair baptizes Euron as the new king, wile Yara and Theon take off with as many ships as they can. Once Euron is crowned, decides his first order of business will be to hunt and kill Theon and Yara. He orders the Ironborn to build him a thousand ships.
Dany looks out over the Dothraki with Daario and Jorah standing behind her. She says she doesn't know what to do with Jorah, since he's been banished twice but also saved her life. He says she must send him away and shows her the greyscale growing on his arm. Dany says she sorry. Jorah says not to be, that all he's ever wanted was to serve her. He admits that he loves her, and that he always will, and says goodbye. Dany orders him no to walk away from his queen. She reminds him of his pledge to her, to obey her commands, and commands him to find the cure for greyscale and then return to her. She says that she will need him by her side when she takes the Seven Kingdoms. Jorah watches Dany ride at the head of the Dothraki before he rides away.
Grey Worm reports that Sons of the Harpy have ceased activity in the wake of the new pact with the nations of Slaver's Bay. Tyrion says it won't be enough. Tyrion says they need a hero to claim responsibility for bringing security to the city, and implies it will be a woman.
Tyrion and Varys meet with Kinvara, the First Priestess of the Lord of Light. Kinvara says she come to help, that Daenerys is the one who was promised to remake the world. Kinvara knows that Tyrion has heard the stories in Volantis. Kinvara agrees to spread the tale that Dany is the anointed one. Varys points out that Stannis was also anointed, and wonders if it's hard to make a mistake. Kinvara simply says that everything is the Lord's will, but human beings make mistakes. Varys wonders why he should trust Kinvara any more than Stannis should have trusted Melisandre. Kinvara says everything happens for a reason, even Varys's mutilation as a child at the hands of a second-rate sorcerer. She asks if Varys remembers the voice that called out from the flames when the sorcerer through his "parts" in.
Bran sits in the cave of the Three-Eyed Raven. He throws a stone at the Raven. He then grabs hold of a root and falls back into a vision. He is at the same sacred spot he saw in his previous vision, only now it is covered in snow and a storm swirls around it. Bran turns and sees a vast army of countless wights. He walks through them and they don't seem to notice. ON the other side of the army, he sees the Night King and three White Walkers sitting on horses. The Night King looks at Bran, and the Wights turn to him as well. When Bran turns back, the Night King is right in front of him. The Night King touches Bran, and Bran shakes from the vision screaming. The Raven says he must leave, that the Night King knows he's there and because his mark is on Bran he will be able to enter. He says it's time for Bran to become him.
Jon Snow, Sansa and their allies discuss which allies they can call to their side. Sansa believes they may be able to turn the Karstarks to his side, but Davos says the houses won't rally to a lost cause. Jon wants to rally the smaller Houses, and Sansa tells them about the Tully army, saying she learned it while at riverun.
Later, she sends Brienne to Riverrun to gather the Tullys. Brienne is reluctant to leave Sansa with Davos and Melisandre, but Sansa trusts Jon to keep her safe. Brienne wonders why she lied about how she learned about the Tully army.
Later, in the courtyard, Sansa is wearing the dress she sowed herself, adorned with a Direwolf emblem. She gives Jon a cloak resembling Ned Stark's. They depart with to visit the Northern houses in hopes of raising an army.
Meera and Hodor are preparing to leave the cave while the Raven and Bran are in a vision. Meera notices their breath has become visible. She runs outside to see the White Walker army assembled there in front of the cave. The Night King touches the ground and it cracks, shaking the cave door, presumably removing the enchantment. Leaf sends Meera to wake Bran. Bran and the Raven have returned to their vision of Winterfell when his father was a child. The Children of the Forest lob magic grenades at the White Walkers and their white and set up a barrier of fire in front of the cave. The fire does not stop the White Walkers, but the wights are held at bay. Ned is being sent to the Vale. His father tells him to conduct himself with dignity, but if he has to fight he should win. The wights have gotten into the cave through the ceiling and are swarming Meera and the Children. Meera desperately tries to shake Bran, telling him to warg into Hodor. The Raven says to listen to his friend. Bran wargs into Hodor. Meera manages to kill one of the White Walker s with an obsidian tipped spear. Summer sacrfices itself to hold the wights at bay so that Bran's party can make a break for it. The Night King kills the Three-Eyed Raven. Leaf kamikazes some more wights to buy time. Hodor pushes open a back door to the cave and manages to hold it shut behind. Bran, still in his vision, can hear Meera shouting "hold the door." Wylas, in the vision, falls over convulsing, screaming "hold the door." Hodor stays behind and torn apart by the wights as Meera escapes with Bran into the snow.
