Spoilers for the Game of Thrones episode "The Broken Man" follow.

Last night's episode of Game of Thrones, "The Broken Man," featured some major moments, from the return of Sandor "The Hound" Clegane to the Waif's vicious attempt to murder Arya Stark. All of that was very nearly overshadowed by one 10-year-old girl with a powerful presence, Lyanna Mormont.

Lyanna, played by newcomer Bella Ramsay, is named after Lyanna Stark, the deceased sister of Ned and Benjen Stark. She is the daughter of "the She-Bear" Maege Mormont, who inherited the Mormont family home, Bear Island, when her nephew, Jorah Mormont, went into exile. Maege is the younger sister of Jorah's father, Jeor Mormont, the "Old Bear" who served as Lord-Commander of the Night's Watch before Jon Snow.

In George R.R. Martin's novels, Maege and most of her other daughters are away from Bear Island, scattered for various reasons during the War of the Five Kings, leaving young Lyanna as the only Mormont in their home. In Game of Thrones, Maege was killed during the war, and she apparently had no children other than Lyanna, leaving Lyanna as the head of her house. Our only previous mention of Lyanna is via a raven she sent to Stannis Baratheon in response to his appeal for aid from the North against the Boltons, which read, "Bear Island knows no king but the King in the North, whose name is STARK."

Judging by her scene in "The Broken Man," Lyanna is taking to the job pretty well. She truly forced Jon and Sansa to work to earn her support (all 62 fighting men of it), though she does remain loyal to House Stark in the end, and her fierce attitude won the hearts of many viewers. She has accompanied Jon and Sansa on their march towards Winterfell, so here's hoping we see more of Lyanna in Season 6 and perhaps even further down the line.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
