The new zombie thriller The Girl With All the Gifts questions whether monsters are born or bred, exploring whether or not even the most innocent of attackers should be held responsible for their actions. In a new clip, Miss Justineau (Gemma Arterton) attempts to console one of the children she's studying, only to realize what happens if you let your guard down.

The film's synopsis is as follows:

"The near future: humanity has been all but destroyed by a fungal disease that eradicates free will and turns its victims into flesh eating 'hungries.' Only a small group of children seem immune to its effects. At an army base in rural England, this group of unique children are being studied and subjected to cruel experiments. But one little girl, Melanie, stands out from the rest.

"When the base falls, Melanie escapes along with Miss Justineau (Arterton), Sergeant Parks (Paddy Considine), Dr. Caldwell (Glenn Close) and two other soldiers. Against the backdrop of a blighted Britain, Melanie must discover what she is and ultimately decide both her own future and that of the human race."

In the vein of films like Dawn of the Dead and 28 Weeks Later, Girl With All the Gifts explores a world in which a zombie-like outbreak has already commenced and the military is doing its best to respond.

Featuring an incredible cast and introducing all-new rules and mythology in the zombie genre, Girl With All the Gifts is a taut thriller that's gory enough for horror hounds and sophisticated enough for anyone interested in a reality-based approach to extraordinary circumstances.

The Girl With All the Gifts is available On Demand and in select theaters February 24.
