The second season of Preacher is officially underway!

Star Dominic Cooper (Jesse Custer) spilled his guts about the start production all over Twitter.

Based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name, Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power: the ability to make people do his bidding with just a word. Once this power attracts the attention of two mysterious angels (Fiore and DeBlanc), Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

Preacher's first season was a kind of prequel to the Vertigo Comics series on which it is based. The first Preacher season finale ended with a scene lifted directly from the very first issue of the Preacher comic book series.

The second season of Preacher will see Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy on a trip to find God and hold Him accountable for everything that has happened in His absence. Along the way, they'll cross paths with the Grail, a ruthless, religious secret society whose purposes is at odds with Jesse's.

Based on the comic created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, Preacher was developed for television by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin. The series stars Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown, Derek Wilson, Ian Colletti, Tom Brooke, Anatol Yusef and Graham McTavish.
