To many film fans who grew up in the '90s, Ethan Embry would always be known for his likable, boyish charm shown in films like That Thing You Do, Can't Hardly Wait, and Empire Records. 20 years later, Embry has reemerged and has been virtually unrecognizable in many genres films, most notably Cheap Thrills, The Guest, and Vacancy. Embry gets to embrace his tattooed, badass nature in the upcoming horror film The Devil's Candy, which has a brand-new trailer.

The film synopsis is as follows:

"A not-so-average family wrestles with Satan in a house from hell in this heavy metal-charged shocker from the director of The Loved Ones. Diehard metalhead and struggling artist Jesse (Ethan Embry) moves with his wife (Shiri Appleby) and daughter (Kiara Glasco) to a middle-of-nowhere Texas town, unaware that the new house they got for an unbelievable deal comes with a grisly history. Disturbing demonic goings-on culminate with the appearance of Ray (The Walking Dead's Pruitt Taylor Vince). He's the home's former resident, and he's here to do the Devil's bidding. The cranked-to-eleven soundtrack blasts Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and a thunderous original score by doom rock legends Sunn O)))."

As you can read, there are many reasons to be excited for this movie. Embry is a ferocious actor whose intensity will clearly be on full display in Devil's Candy. Writer/director Sean Byrne also gave us 2009's The Loved Ones, a twisted tale of love and revenge, making it an instant cult classic. Lastly, do you see that soundtrack? Getting to hear Slayer and Pantera in any movie about the devil is automatically exciting, but having tapped Sunn O))) to do the score will clearly push this film into unsettling territories.

The Devil's Candy hits select theaters and VOD on March 17.
