The Rock Provides His Take On Classic Disney Characters

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson seems to appear in almost every movie coming out over the next few years. As if Jumanji, Fast & Furious, and Baywatch weren't enough, Johnson is featured in the upcoming Disney Animation film, Moana.

While speaking with Screen Junkies about the new movie, Johnson was asked to take on some classic Disney characters. Since he's played everything else under the sun, why not let The Rock jump back into the classics?

Johnson was given scripts by host Hal Rudnick, and he was going to cold-read for a couple of legendary Disney roles.

This act alone would have been funny enough, but the Screen Junkies video team did an incredible job of cutting Johnsons reads into these classic cartoons. Using a cropped version of The Rock's head, they transformed him into Buzz Lightyear, Gaston, and The Genie.

The rest of the creative team behind Moana took part in the Screen Junkies interview as well, and they were asked who Johnson could play if he were in a classic Disney film. The overwhelming response was that he would be a perfect Gaston.

It's not a bad choice, as his build and charisma make him nearly perfect for the role. Since they have already filmed a live-action version of Beauty & The Beast, Johnson couldn't be involved. Luke Evans will instead play the memorable villain, and the recent trailer shows that he was an incredible choice as well.

Moana hits theaters on November 23, 2016. This release puts the Disney film in front of audiences the day before Thanksgiving, and it looks to have a monster opening weekend.
