Toy Fair 2015: The Walking Dead Comic and TV Share McFarlane Spotlight

At Toy Fair 2015, McFarlane Toys' obvious focus was on The Walking Dead While some new Halo, NBA, and Assassin's Creed was on display as well, the zombies and survivors of the hit comic and tv series dominated the booth.

There's the extensive "Build This" line, with new buildings, new characters, and an opportunity to stage your favorite scenes from AMC's show, which we showed you before. Seeing them in person, you can really create a lot and have more freedom than the sets may have initially implied. And yes, the Governor's fish tanks still look creepy, even when they're tiny.

The action figure and statue lines are increasing as well, and McFarlane has committed to supporting both the TV series looks and the comic book looks of characters. On the comic side, the new Wave 4 series coming in July is doing the unthinkable: not including Rick at all! Luckily, he won't be missed by collectors, when they see Carl with interchangable gunshot wound heads, comic book Abraham, and the amazing new walker that features multiple weapons jammed into it - all of which are removable for use with other figures.

On the TV side, they announced the Series 8 wave for October 2015, which features Eugene, Morgan, Rick, Dale, and Bob - while it's not finalized, they're trying to include a little "BBQ" variant with Bob, too, a representative told ComicBook.com. Gruesome. Series 7 is the next to hit, though, in March, and includes a Michonne with a candle and EZ-Cheese, and a pre-Apocalypse Cop Rick that's a Walgreens exclusive in the set.

The 10-inch Deluxe figure line will see a brand-new Michonne - her prototype was just manufactured last week and is shown for the first time here, while previous releases will see new "Survivor Editions" starting with Daryl Dixon in May 2015. These new variants include a lot of blood and gore, and represent the characters after hearty battles.

Just for good measure, we also have a look at a new Medieval Spawn resin statue prototype. It's just "Coming Soon," but the statue, clocking in at about 18" tall with his sword, looks imposing, and symbolizes the full reacquisition of the property.

Take a look at our full gallery of the new The Walking Dead products (plus Spawn) below, and let us know what you'll be pre-ordering or picking up in the comments.
