Director Michael Bay has announced that Transformers: The Last Knight, the fifth installment of the Transformers film franchise, has wrapped production.

Bay commemorated the occasion by releasing a video that revealed that the first trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight will be released on Monday.

The video Bay released, seen above, features several behind-the-scenes look from what Bay himself describes as the "epic shoot" for Transformers: The Last Knight.

Few details are known about Transformers: The Last Knight as of yet, but scenes taking place during the time of King Arthur, during the Viking era, and during World War II were filmed during production. This suggests that either flashbacks or time travel will be used as an important plot mechanic.

Filming the scenes set in World War II for Transformers: The Last Knight caused some controversy after it was revealed that Winston Churchill's family home had been redressed with Nazi iconography. It didn't take long for Bay to respond to critics.

Transformers: The Last Knight is directed by Michael bay, and stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Liam Garrigan, Jerrod Carmichael, Mitch Pileggi, Laura Haddock, Santiago Cabrera, and Anthony Hopkins.

Transformers: The Last Knight is set for release June 23, 2017.
