Having worked with Patrick Stewart for so many years on the Star Trek TV series, Brent Spiner has truly honed in on an impression of the iconic actor.
During a panel at Supercon in Raleigh, North Carolina, Spiner treated the fans to such an impression, impressively nailing every beat of Stewart's accent, voice, and word choices. Check it out in the video above.
"This is appalling! I am appalled! I would never..." Spiner started. "We are professionals!" The story went on to describe people's reactions to Stewart's dissatisfaction on a particular episode of Star Trek. Some co-stars and crew members had a hard time dealing with it! According to Spiner, it was the episode "where Data goes up on the hill to remember Tasha."
By Spiner's account, Stewart quickly dropped the "appalled" act and went up to the top of the hill to start singing, "The hills are alive!" His mood had clearly changed quite quickly, but Spiner credits it to the co-stars and series having broken him -- to a laugh from the audience.
On Star Trek: The Next Generation, Spiner played Lt. Commander Data from 1987 to 1994. Stewart played the iconic character of Captain Jean-Luc Picard for 176 episodes.
A new Star Trek series is currently on its way to CBS, with The Walking Dead's Sonequa Martin-Green at the front of Star Trek: Discovery.
