A memorial gala to honor Carrie Fisher called "Drowing in Moonlight" has been announced for the weekend of Star Wars Celebration Orlando in April 2017. The convention will be the first major convention of the year, and first since the death of Fisher in late December. Star Wars fansite Tosche Station is organizing the gala.

The gala will honor Fisher and raise proceeds for The Midnight Mission, a charity organization that "offers paths to self-sufficiency to men, women, and children who have lost direction." Fisher herself contributed regularly to the organization.

You do not need a Star Wars Celebration badge to attend Drowing in Moonlight, though the timing has been set so that the maximum number of attendees to the convention can also celebrate the life of their princess and general, Carrie Fisher. The gala will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Orlando, and tickets are on sale now.

At the gala, fans are encouraged to "Dress-up or Dress Up." "Black-tie optional, cosplay encouraged," they say. Fans can expect:
