John Boyega Shows Off Finn's New Weapon From Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi star John Boyega is now the "proud owner" of Finn's new blaster from the film.

Boyega plays Finn and debuted in the role in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Boyega is a Star Wars collector (and collector of other things) since before being cast, and now he's adding an actual prop from Star Wars: The Last Jedi to his personal collection, courtesy of Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.

"Proud owner of Finn's blaster ! Thanks to @riancjohnson !" Boyega wrote in his Instagram post to accompany a video of himself showing off the blaster's practical effects. See the video for yourself below.

Finn will be spending some time in Star Wars: The Last Jedi healing from his encounter with Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That process will be aided by the use of a Bacta tank. The fact that Finn was able to survive his encounter with the leader of the Knights of Ren means he'll be a big deal within the Resistance. Finn's next mission will send him behind enemy lines with a new character, fellow resistance member Rico.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters Dec. 15, 2017

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, thirty years after the defeat of the Empire, Luke Skywalker has vanished and a new threat has risen: The First Order, led by the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke and his dark side enforcer, Kylo Ren. General Leia Organa's military force, the Resistance — and unlikely heroes brought together by fate — are the galaxy's only hope at thwarting a new reign of evil.
