Woody Harrelson Confirms Han Solo's 'Temporary' Title

Despite filming slated to wrap in just a few weeks, no official title has been released for the upcoming Han Solo film, other than a few rumors. While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Woody Harrelson did confirm that the film's "temporary" title is "Solo."
During his appearance on the show, which was to promote the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes, Colbert demanded to get some sort of details about the upcoming Star Wars spin-off. To broach the subject, Colbert showed the audience a photo that Harrelson had posted on social media in which he was wearing a t-shirt with the Solo title visible.
When Colbert asked if this crew shirt confirmed the film's title, Harrelson replied, "Right now, that's the temporary name of the movie."

The actor's confirmation that this is the temporary title lends credence to reports from earlier this year that the shirts given to the crew, which had the logo on the front and the quote "We shot first" on the back, revealed the film's ultimate title.
Harrelson had clearly been briefed before going on stage to speak as little about the upcoming film as possible as to not divulge details or explain the recent change in directors. In addition to confirming the film's temporary title, the only other information he shared about the project was that his character was a criminal.

When filming commenced on the project, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller posted a slate the kicked off the production, which listed the working title as "Red Cup." This is a joke about the iconic plastic cups often used at parties, produced by the company Solo.
While the episodic entries into the saga have merely released shirts with logos proclaiming which episode it was, it's possible that Solo will be the official title. With Rogue One, the crew shirts proclaimed the title, so it wouldn't be surprising if the Han Solo film followed the same route.
The untitled Han Solo film is slated to hit theaters May 25, 2018.
The Han Solo movie is being produced by Lucasfilm from a screenplay by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the second standalone Star Wars movie following Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in 2016.
Set prior to the events of Han Solo's first appearance in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the film stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. The film is said to show how Han Solo and Chewbacca, first met Lando Calrissian, played by Glover.
Filming on the Han Solo movie began in January 2017 with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directing. Principal photography began at Pinewood Studios in February. Lord and Miller left the Han Solo movie in June, having reportedly been fired over creative differences. Ron Howard will come on as the director to see the production to completion.
