Star Wars fans have been learning a lot about the Force in recent months. We've had new ways to look at it in almost every corner of the Star Wars universe. In the second Aftermath novel, we saw Leia commune with her in-utero son. In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we met people so devoted to the Force they could feel and understand it even though they couldn't wield it. On Star Wars Rebels, we've seen into the Force itself through the joining of holocrons - the Jedi and Sith repositories of information and Force energy, met a being that can wield both light and dark in The Bendu, and started to learn more about those little Force owls, the Convorees. Now, Marvel Comics gets into the mix with new looks at the Force in the pages of Star Wars #28. Released today, this third chapter of Yoda's story from the past shows off a different kind of Force user, one who calls it the Stonepower. These people harness the Force without truly knowing what it is, by channeling it through mysterious blue rocks that are alive with the Force. Some of them even consume slivers of the rocks, giving them a stronger connection to the Force.

But when Yoda started training in the ways of the Stonepower, finding a new way to look at the Force, the powerful yet dimminutive Jedi made a discovery - the blue Force-infused mountain was not a mountain at all, but a towering Force user, living and breathing with a beating heart that seems to be directly connected to the Force itself.

It's another in a series of huge revelations about our understanding of the Force in the Star Wars galaxy. As we continue to learn more about other Force users, and beings that are even more tied to it than the Jedi and Sith, like the Bendu and this mountain creature (next month's issue promises to deliver more information about it), it at once grows our understanding of the Force and makes it more mysterious somehow.

We'll see in Star Wars #29 just what this mountain of Force is, and keep learning more about the energy field that connects all living things.
