Oscar Isaac Shares Beautiful Story About Carrie Fisher on Last Jedi Set

The sudden and unfortunate passing of Carrie Fisher last year had a huge impact on the Star Wars saga for fans and cast alike. Her character, Leia Organa, was not only a cultural icon, but was slated to be a prominent part of the 2019 installment of the series, Episode IX.
While Fisher's last on screen appearance as General Leia will be in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Leia's influence will no doubt endure and for the cast and crew so will Fisher's personal impact and influence.
While everyone involved with Star Wars: The Last Jedi has their own Fisher story, Oscar Isaac has perhaps the most beautiful. Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in the film, shared with Entertainment Weekly his favorite moment with the late actress.
"One of my favorite things that would happen from time to time on set would be when Carrie would sing old songs," he says. "Whenever that would happen I would offer her my hand and we would waltz around the set – on a starship, in a Rebel base, on an alien planet, and she would sing and we would dance. So surreal and beautiful to think about now. For all of her delicious, wicked humor and fiery energy she also had such sweet grace. I miss her dearly."
The idea of Fisher – and Leia – gracefully and peacefully singing and dancing through the universe might just be one of the loveliest ways to remember the star.
Audiences can say goodbye to Fisher's Leia Organa when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.
