New Inquisitor Teased For 'Darth Vader'

When Star Wars Rebels debuted on Disney XD, it added a new wrinkle to the canon with the inclusion of Inquisitors. And while we've already seen four of the Jedi hunters on the animated series, another member is set to make an appearance in the pages of Marvel Comics.

The new Darth Vader comic from Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli shows the former Anakin Skywalker's ascent as a Sith Lord after the events of Episode III. Solicits for new issues out in November will show Vader taking over the Emperor's Inquisitorius Program.

The cover for one of the issues even hints that we might be seeing an Inquisitor yet to be featured on Rebels or in comics, though they might have a presence elsewhere in the Star Wars Universe.

This cover features Darth Vader surrounded by various Inquisitors in a lightsaber battle. Those featured include the Grand Inquisitor, the Fifth Brother, the Seventh Sister, and the Eighth Brother.

Another Inquisitor's arm clutching a double-sided blade is featured in the foreground of the cover, hinting at the appearance of another member in the pages of the comic. While it could be a brand new character debuting in Darth Vader, it could also be a previously mentioned character.

The Ahsoka novel featured a confrontation between Anakin Skywalker's former Padawan and an Inquisitor named the Sixth Brother. Ahsoka Tano killed the Sixth Brother when she Force-pulled the kyber crystals from his lightsaber, causing his weapon to explode.

The Sixth Brother could be the Inquisitor hinted on this cover, but it might also be another. Given the numbering of the members, there are three, maybe four, different members who have yet to make an appearance other than the Sixth Brother.

We'll find out this November when new issues of Darth Vader hit comic shops.
