Dave Chappelle Wins Emmy Award For 'Saturday Night Live' Episode

Dave Chappelle has officially won an Emmy Award for his hosting of Saturday Night Live in the fall of 2016.

Chappelle took home Creative Arts Emmy Award for the Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his Saturday Night Live hosting debut. He was nominated against two other Saturday Night Live hosts: Tom Hanks and Lin Manuel Miranda. The episode aired on November 12, 2016.

During Chappelle's Saturday Night Live episode, the comedian and former star of Chappelle's Show took aim at the Presidential election which had taken place in the weeks leading up to the episode. He did, however, manage to squeeze in a hilarious and unforgettable sketch which parodied The Walking Dead's iconic Season 6 finale and Season 7 premiere, which introduced the villainous Negan character portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the AMC series.

During Chappelle's Walking Dead-themed sketch on Saturday Night Live, the actor reprised several personalities from Chappelle's Show, including Tyrone Biggums and Lil John. It was all about three weeks after The Walking Dead's highly-watched and controversial episode aired.

Since, Chappelle has premiered a pair of stand-up comedy specials which are currently available on Netflix, while show which helped propel his Saturday Night Live episode to fame, The Walking Dead, aired the rest of its seventh season and is set to return for an eighth on October 22, 2017.

For fans of Chappelle and The Walking Dead who have not yet watched the unforgettable Negan parody sketch from Saturday Night Live, doing so immediately is a must.
