Norman Reedus Licks Melissa McBride's Face For Her Birthday

The Walking Dead's Melissa McBride celebrated her 52nd birthday on Monday.

While ComicBook.com took an approach of celebrating the actress' birthday by remembering Carol's best moments on The Walking Dead, some of her The Walking Dead family had more creative approaches. Specifically: Norman Reedus.

Reedus took to Instagram to share a photo for McBride's birthday but it's a very specific photo. The Daryl Dixon actor is licking McBride's face during a photo op session at a comic convention. It's not the first time the photo has made its rounds on the Internet but it's certainly a noteworthy way of wishing your co-star a happy birthday!

McBride and Reedus are two of five characters on the AMC series who have been around since the earliest season. Both debuted on The Walking Dead in its second episode, with McBride's character fulfilling an impressive arc. She started as a humbled and abused housewife before becoming a hero willing to do whatever it takes to survive and protect her new family. Similar can be said for Reedus' Daryl, who we met as a hardened and humbled little brother and watched evolve into a loyal brother to Alexandria leader Rick Grimes.

Reedus' post prompted fans to send all sorts of emojis in the Instagram comment section. If licking McBride's face wasn't enough, the actor wrote, "Happy birthday to one of my favorite people ever. Love you, Mel."
