The Walking Dead: How Does Sasha Die In The Comics?

03/19/2017 10:22 am EDT

While The Walking Dead comics normally provide a good basis for a show character's future, things are a little more complicated for a character like Sasha. See, as popular of a character as she is, Sasha was never actually in the comics.

However, her character has pulled from multiple different people in the comics, and they can help weave the tale for her future on the series.

Initially, when Tyreese appeared in the comic, he had a daughter with him instead of a sister. This was a small connection to Sasha, as Tyreese was very protective of her, but it didn't last long. Tyreese's daughter was killed not long after they arrived in the prison.

Next, Sasha's character was slightly modeled by the comic version of Andrea. Since the character was no longer in the show, someone needed to become the sharpshooter for the group. Other than that trait though, there wasn't much else Sasha took from Andrea's character.

The big one here is Holly - and this will be the biggest factor when looking at Sasha's potential death on the show.
While Holly appeared very briefly on the show, she wasn't at all like her comic character. See, in the books, Holly was involved with Abraham. When the group got to Alexandria, Abraham started to leave Rosita for a stronger, more independent woman. He favored Holly, and that was that.

The same story unfolded on the show, but with Sasha instead of Holly. Unfortunately, Abraham's death made Holly feel very sacrificial.

In order to help the group, Holly took Negan head on. She drove a bus into the gates of the Sanctuary, letting walkers flood in, and expecting to die in the process.

It turns out she survived, and Negan used Holly to kill someone else. Negan said he had her prisoner, and he worked out an exchange with the group. When he returned Holly, she had a bag over her head as she walked back to her friends. As Denise lifted the bag off of Holly, it was revealed that she had been turned into a walker.

Holly's reanimated self bit Denise, and they were both killed.

With Sasha's recent behavior, it looks like she has a similar future ahead. She wants to take out Negan, with no regard for her own safety. It's going to be hard for her to make it through season seven alive.

The Walking Dead is currently ranked fifth in ComicBook.com's user rankings. The only shows earning better rankings are Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, Daredevil, and The Flash. Be sure to head over and rank your favorite shows!
