The Walking Dead Releases New 'Rise Up' Character Posters

In less than a month, The Walking Dead will return to its rightful place on Sunday nights. In the meantime, AMC has been using a mix of cryptic and informative images.

This week, the network has debuted a slew of character posters online. Each of the show's major characters has one, totalling 14 in all.

These pictures are set to a white background, and feature a black and grey version of the character. Mixed in, are streaks of bright and dark red. It seems as though the red is meant to be blood, as it smears along surfaces like Carol's knife and Michonne's sword.

These photos could just be great works of art, meant to do nothing more than showcase the characters. On the other hand, these images could also be teasing danger ahead for the group. That's not much of a surprise though, as they've been in danger sense the show began.

The 14 photos contain all of the fan-favorite characters - Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Morgan, Carol, Sasha, Carl, Negan, Aaron, Eugene, Rosita, Maggie, Tara, and Gabriel.

The inclusion of Gabriel could be surprising to some, as he hasn't been featured very heavily on the show in recent episodes. However, this could mean he will have a much bigger role in the second half of this season.
