The most successful property from Image Comics is getting an homage from one of the company's founders and its longest running title as Todd McFarlane pays tribute to the Walking Dead.

As part of Image Comics' 25th Anniversary celebration, various titles from the publisher will have variant covers referencing some of the most iconic covers from the Walking Dead's long run.

McFarlane recently revealed his cover for Spawn #281, which pays homage to the first chapter of The Walking Dead's pivotal storyline "All Out War." Check it out below.

The cover is almost a mashup of the two properties, with Jim Downing or Rick Grimes (really, who can tell the difference) wearing Spawn-themed garb without going all in. Clown takes the place of Negan, the arc's big bad guy. Jason Wynn is there in place of Dwight on the right side of the cover.

And the classic Al Simmons Spawn is on the bottom left, replacing one of the zombies from the main cover.

Other Image titles referencing classic Walking Dead covers include popular comics like Descender, Extremity, Wicked & Divine, Manifest Destiny, Black Science, and I Hate Fairyland.

This cover in particular was solicited as being by Jason Shawn Alexander, but that is distinctly McFarlane's work — if you can't tell, check the signature.

The issue is set to hit comic stores October 25th.
