The Walking Dead: What Did That Note Say?

Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 7 follow.

During a moment which may have been foreshadowing Spencer Monroe's much anticipated death on The Walking Dead, the AMC series threw viewers for a loop by throwing in a note with not only some terrible handwriting but words in another language.

As it turns out, the note that Spencer found during Episode 7x07 of The Walking Dead contained Latin writing -- so for those of you who took the course through high school or picked up a few credits in college with it, you're finally getting some value out of it. One Redditor capitalized on having the knowledge (and we thank him for it) by translating all of the words he could make out from the note.

Here's what James_Rustler_ came up with:

Aqua = Water

Stantm = Standing

Que = And

Capite = Head or You Get (thanks to commenter Joseph Andrew Maliberan)

As for what any of those words actually mean, we can only infer their message from what Spencer said when he returned to Alexandria well-stocked with food and water. According to the last remaining Monroe, the note directed him to a cache of supplies -- but we know the young gun tends to tell a few fibs every now and then.

Of course, he may have been telling the truth as he had a rare moment to show off. His mother, Deanna, taught him Latin, for some reason. It's one of the few useful traits of hers' which he actually picked up on before she was killed off in the midseason 6 finale. He might just be following her lead for the midseason 7 finale episode, but we'll see on Sunday.
