Netflix is going cyberpunk with its next new science fiction series Altered Carbon.

Netflix today released a new trailer for the 10-episode series which reveals the show's February 2018 release date. Take a look above.

Altered Carbon stars Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad), Kristin Lehman (The Killing), Chris Connor (Walk of Shame), Antonio Marziale (The Gay and Wonderful Life of Caleb Gallo), Hiro Kanagawa (Caprica), and James Purefoy (The Following). The series hails from Skydance Television (Grace and Frankie) and is executive producer by Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island, Terminator Genisys).

Altered Carbon is based on the award-winning novel of the same name, which was written by Richard K. Morgan and published in 2002. The story takes place 500 years into a future where the human mind can now be digitized and downloaded into a "cortical stack" and placed into new bodies, called sleeves, essentially undoing the permanence of death.

The series follows Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman), who is brought back to life centuries later to investigate the attempted murder of Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), the wealthiest man on Earth. As the investigation progresses, Kovacs comes to learn that his past isn't nearly as buried as he thought.

Altered Carbon will premiere on Netflix on February 2, 2018.
