While much is still unknown about the upcoming cycle of American Horror Story, another new actor has joined the cast. But for those familiar with AHS showrunner Ryan Murphy's body of work, this casting should come as no surprise.

Murphy recently announced via Instagram that Leslie Grossman will be joining the anthology's upcoming election-themed seventh season. As of right now, it's unclear if Grossman's role will be as a series regular or a recurring cast member.

The actress is best known for playing cheerleader Mary Cherry on Murphy's WB dramedy Popular. In the years since, she has appeared on What I Like About You, Scandal, and Modern Family. Aside from Popular, Grossman is no stranger to collaborating with Murphy, having also appeared in Nip/Tuck and The New Normal.

Grossman isn't the only new member of the AHS family for this upcoming season. Joining her will be Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, Disney's upcoming The Lion King live-action remake) and Billie Lourd (Scream Queens, Star Wars: The Force Awakens). Series alums Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will also be involved with the seventh season.

American Horror Story will return to FX in September.
