Family Guy Takes A Stab At Game Of Thrones, The Rock's Ballers

Family Guy, a show well known for its cutaway pop culture gag references, has turned its attention to HBO's Game of Thrones and Ballers.

The reference comes from the eighteenth episode of Family Guy's fifteenth season, "The Peter Principle." A conversation between Stewie and Brian to comment about his time in the Night's Watch. This prompts a cutaway to a scene where Brian plays Jon Snow in the "for the Watch" scene that concluded Game of Thrones' fifth season.

Peter also shows up with a "Hi, Brian," before stabbing him and pointing out that he is Samwell Tarly's boring storyline. Then Chris shows up claiming to be Ballers, the Rock's sports drama that follows Game of Thrones on Sundays during the season. The Night's Watch then stabs him, with even Chris admitting that he gets it.

Game of Thrones stars Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Aidan Gillen, Kit Harington, Diana Rigg, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Jonathan Pryce.

Game of Thrones is executive produced by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger, and Bernadette Caulfield. Co-executive producers are Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis, George R.R. Martin.

Game of Thrones seventh and penultimate season premieres on July 16 on HBO.

Then there are their kids: frumpy, 16-year-old MEG (Mila Kunis), the family's punching bag; 13-year-old CHRIS (Seth Green), a kid who can't make sense of the opposite sex, much less the evil monkey hiding in his closet; and 1-year-old STEWIE (MacFarlane), a diabolically clever baby whose heterosexuality is hanging by a thread. Rounding out the Griffin household is BRIAN (MacFarlane), the family dog, a member of Mensa with a penchant for dry martinis and dumb blondes.
