The Powerpuff Girls Are Getting A Fourth Member

Soon the Powerpuff Girls will have a little help, as the all-star trio is getting a new member.

Buttercup, Blossom, and Bubbles have formed the main squad since the Powerpuff Girls was created, but they'll get a brand new member on September 17th (via EW). The new member's identity will be revealed as part of the upcoming five part movie event "The Powerpuff Girls: Power Of Four, which will air on Cartoon Network at 5:30 pm est.

As to how or why the new hero appears is a mystery that Cartoon Network is saving for the movie's premiere, but odds are she'll also have a name starting with the letter B. It's not like you can have Buttercup, Blossom, Bubbles, and Loraine. Well, you could actually, but it just breaks the whole pattern so no!

How about Bernadette or Bocca? Butterscotch would be nice, but it is too close to Buttercup. How about I can't believe it's not Buttercup?

"crickets"

Okay whatever, guess they have better ideas.

You can view the new teaser image in the gallery, which gives the silhouette of the new Powerpuff member. Not much can be deduced, other than she'll have significantly bigger hair than the other girls.

Powerpuff Girls stars Amanda Leighton (Blossom), Kristen Li (Bubbles), and Natalie Palamides (Buttercup), along with Tom Kenny as the Mayor and narrator. This series is a reboot of the 1996 original run, which ran for 78 episodes.

"It has been wonderful to see this new show team bring such passion and positive creative spirit to this iconic property," said Cartoon Network Chief Content Officer, Rob Sorcher. "We know that fans of every age will appreciate this new take on saving the world before bedtime."

The Powerpuff Girls also recently debuted as part of the popular LEGO Dimensions, alongside characters from Teen Titans GO and Beetlejuice. Each member also comes with a custom vehicle for players to use, but fans will have access to the powers they know and love from the television series, as well as locations like Pokey Oaks Elementary and Professor Utonium's Lab.

Powerpuff Girls: The Power of Four lands on September 17th.
