Fred asks Archie to come downstairs. He explains to Archie that the divorce between him and Archie's mom should be finalized by the end of the week, and that he's going out of town to meet with Archie's mom. Archie asks if the pair can still fix their marriage. Fred is uncertain.

Veronica is met by Hermione, as well as Hiram's attorney. The attorney asks for Veronica to make a statement during the trial about her father's character. She insists that she still won't, and leaves.

At lunch, Betty suggests that the gang throw Jughead a birthday party. Kevin and Archie are against it, but Veronica is on board.

Suddenly, Chuck Clayton arrives in the cafeteria, back from his suspension. Betty storms over to him, finding him sitting with Ethel. She confronts Chuck, but he and Ethel both say that they are fine. Betty composes herself and heads back to the lunch table. She opens her hands and realizes that her fingernails have dug into her hands. She changes the subject back to Jughead's party, and Archie offers to host it at his house.

Veronica wakes up the next day in Archie's bedroom, and finds him sitting on the inflatable matress. She goes over to him and kisses him on the cheek.
