'Riverdale's Vanessa Morgan Teases Toni Topaz's Relationship with Jughead

It's sounds like Riverdale's newest addition will be forming quite a bond with one of the show's fan-favorites.

Vanessa Morgan is set to play Toni Topaz in the second season of the hit The CW series. And as she revealed in a recent interview with Glamour, her character will quickly form a relationship with Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), after his recent transfer to Southside High.

"She's a Southside Serpent," Morgan explained, "a gang member, and Jughead's first friend."

Morgan went on to reveal that Toni will also function as a foil for the fan-favorite 'Bughead' relationship, which pairs up Jughead and Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart).

"I might stir up the pot a bit with the Bughead relationship." Morgan hinted." There might be a little love triangle."

But even then, Morgan hinted that Riverdale fans - even those already sending her death threats - might be surprised by her arc on the show.

"Who knows if [my character coming between Bughead] is even going to happen? People are just jumping to conclusions."

Morgan also revealed how welcomed she feels by the Riverdale cast, including Sprouse and Reinhart.

"Lili and Cole are awesome," Morgan added, "and they have been nothing but welcoming to me. It's great doing scenes with them. I feel lucky that everyone has been so nice."

Riverdale's second season will premiere on a new night, on Wednesday, October 11th, at 8/7c, on The CW.

As the town breathed a collective sigh of relief that Jason's killer had been found out, another terrible crime occurred, in a space that had been considered one of the town's safest, most innocent places. If Jason Blossom's murder revealed the slimy underbelly beneath Riverdale's surface, as we enter Season Two, the shooting of Fred Andrews threatens to plunge the entire town into utter darkness.
