Mark Hunt Sues UFC, Dana White, And Brock Lesnar

The fallout from Brock Lesnar's victory at UFC 200 continues, and now the target isn't just Lesnar.

Lesnar's opponent in his UFC return match Mark Hunt is now suing the UFC, Brock Lesnar, and UFC head Dana White for 2.5 million (via MMAThread). Lesnar was found to have a banned substance in his body after the results of his pre-fight drug test came in, and while he had to return the $2.5 million he received for the fight, his win was not revoked. This didn't sit well with many, including Hunt.

The suit has been filed in a Nevada District Court, and alleges "UFC and its agents have affirmatively circumvented and obstructed fair competition for their own benefit, including being complicit in doping proliferation under the guise of advancing 'the best anti-doping program in all of professional sports.' Defendants have accomplished this by means including but not limited to various and rampant purported use exemptions, drug testing exemptions and by failure to enforce its own policies."

This isn't the first time Hunt has been vocal about his issues with UFC following the incident, and in a recent interview with ESPN Hunt said "I want the UFC to understand it's not OK to keep doing what they're doing. They're allowing guys to do this. They had a chance to take all the money from this guy, because he's a cheater, and they didn't. What message is that sending to the boys and girls who want to be a fighter someday? The message is, 'You just have to cheat like this and it's OK.' In society, if you commit a crime, you pay. Why is it different in MMA? It's hurt the business, so it's even worse. They need to be held accountable for this."

UFC has not commented on the lawsuit so far, but a statement will probably be coming soon enough.
