Stephanie McMahon Has Talked To Ronda Rousey About Joining WWE

The WWE is always looking to court big names for their pay-per-view events and for television in general, and it's been no secret that they've wanted UFC star Ronda Rousey to throw down in the ring.

Recent comments made by Stephanie McMahon have indicated that a deal between the two is somewhere in the works. McMahon spoke at Fortune's Most Powerful Women Next Gen Summit in Laguna Niguel California, where she mentioned that she has "loosely talked to" Ronda, and also said "We would love to have her at WWE" via Inquisitr.

They've already set the stage for a potential move with Rousey's appearance at WrestleMania 32, where Rousey joined the Rock in the ring in a segment with McMahon and Triple H. Rousey ended up flipping Triple H over her shoulder, stunning the crowd, and it's no secret that she's a big fan of the WWE product.

Rousey would instantly bolster either women's roster she joined if she were to make the leap, if it happens at all mind you, and if the brand split is still in place at the time. If both of those are taken as fact for the moment, then adding her as either a babyface or a heel would enable some great potential feuds, especially with someone like Nia Jax or Becky Lynch.

It could happen sooner than you might think, as Rousey has already stated that UFC 207 is "definitely one of my last fights." If she wins, it will likely delay any transition she plans to make, but even if she wins it wouldn't be surprising to see her fight one or two more times and then retire while on top. She knows what it's like to be thrown from that perch, and being able to go out while you're ahead is a treasured commodity in sports.
