WWE: Two Legends Announced For Upcoming Monday Night RAW

12/31/2016 12:14 pm EST

The WWE needs to let the fans know who they are going to see at any given live or televised event, but occasionally that advertising can get a bit ahead of the storyline train, especially when legends are involved.

It looks like that is the case with a recent WWE advertisement for an upcoming Monday Night RAW. The event will take place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on January 9th, which of course the WWE is already selling tickets for. The company recently sponsored an ad with a ticketmaster link, which revealed that two big names will be in attendance (via WrestleZone).

The ad reads "On January 9th at Smoothie King Center, The Undertaker returns to WWE Raw, plus a special appearance by "HBK" Shawn Michaels! Seats are going fast, get yours today for the return of The Deadman and HBK to NOLA!"

First, just the appearance of The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels in any capacity is always noteworthy, especially with all the rumors surrounding the deadman's next opponent. Secondly, it is surprising to see Undertaker on RAW, as he was previously announced for Smackdown Live. His rumored opponents have consisted of both John Cena and AJ Styles, both of which are also on the blue brand, so why he would show up on RAW is a bit mysterious.

As always with these things, plans can always change, or maybe the WWE just got ahead of themselves a bit. Still, fans will eagerly tune into RAW on January 9th to see what happens.
