Bruce Wayne Gets Namedropped in New Powerless Promo

"In this city, when superheroes battle above, it sucks to be down below."

"I can't believe I'm working for Bruce Wayne," Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) says in the latest Powerless promo, while receiving a tour of Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises. Her unexcited tour guide corrects the new employee, telling her "Bruce Wayne's cousin" is her boss.

As revealed in a promo we posted earlier today, Batman's non-canon cousin is named 'Van Wayne' and is being portrayed by Alan Tudyk. The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Firefly star was originally set to play a character named 'Del Heller,' but after the show got revamped, it added more direct connections to the DC superheroes and supervillains.

Emily Locke lands her dream job as Director of Research and Development for Wayne Security in Charm City, home to super heroes and villains and citizens fed up with the collateral damage of their constant fighting. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her aspirations far exceed those of her new boss and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don't need superpowers to be a hero.

The cast features Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk, and Ron Funches.

Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Len Goldstein, Marc Buckland and Dean Lorey are executive producers of Powerless. Buckland served as the director of the pilot. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and is based on the characters from DC.

Powerless premieres Thursday, February 2 at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
