Valient Entertainment is about to embark on the next big event for the Valiant Universe, but this event will shake up the universe you're used to considerably.

In Divinity III: Stalinverse #1, writers Matt Kindt (4001 A.D.) and artist Trevor Hairsine (X-Men: Deadly Genesis) along with inker Ryan Winn (X-O Manowar) and colorist David Baron (BLOODSHOT REBORN) are unveiling a world that is ruled by Russia, thanks to their efforts during the Cold War (via Valiant).

"Divinity's place in the Valiant Universe is about to fundamentally reshape the world as we thought we knew it, and the ramifications of this series will play out for months and years after the final page," said Valiant CEO and Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani. "Not only is the story fully in continuity, it will leave several major new, key elements and characters in place that will be essential to Valiant's plans going forward. We're incredibly excited for readers to finally see all the twists, turns, and surprises that DIVINITY III: STALINVERSE has in store!"

In the race to outer space, Russia and the United States were neck and neck, but Russia had a plan B. They shifted their focus from the moon to the stars, and thanks to what they found there, they now rule the world with no one having the firepower to hold them at bay.

You can find the full description of the anticipated event below, which is in full cannon with the rest of the Valiant Universe. To celebrate the big event, Valiant has also shared an extended preview of Divinity III: Stalinverse #1 (of 4). It releases on December 21.

"At the height of the Cold War, the United States, and the Soviet Union were racing to the stars. But, while America was aiming for the moon, Russia had its eyes on the cosmos. In secret, they launched a three-man mission into the far reaches of space. In the depths, they discovered something Unknown. Something that…changed them. Imbued with god-like powers, the long-lost cosmonauts returned home…only to discover that their old ideology, communism, lost the war to western capitalism in the decades since their journey first began. But now they have the power to change it all…"
