It's always a bit jarring getting used to a new place, but that takes on a whole new meaning when you're Red Sonja.

In Red Sonja #2 (Vol. 4), the red-haired warrior finds herself in a place unlike any other, New York City. Finding herself in modern times would be a big enough transition for anyone to handle, but she also happens to be without her trademark sword. Not to worry, though, at least she has a stick. Yeah, well, at least it's something.

Red Sonja Vol. 4 #2 is written by Amy Chu with art by Carlos Gomez. The book will also launch with several variant covers including one by Mike McKone (a), J. Scott Campbell (b), a Cosplay variant (c), and Mel Rubi (d). You can view the covers and a preview of the forthcoming issue in the galley. The official description is listed below.

A new chapter for the Queen of the Hyrkanian Age. Our favorite warrior has faced the toughest of demons, foes and strange magic, but nothing has prepared this 6 ft. tall barbarian for… the modern world. Emerging from a subway construction site in New York City, confronted by cops and guns, Sonja fights for her survival in a new and hostile world. Is she here by accident or by design? Who brought her here, and why? By the creative team of Amy Chu (Poison Ivy, KISS) and Carlos Gomez (Dresden Files).

Red Sonja Vol. 4 #2 is in stores tomorrow.
