Spawn And Savage Dragon Get Mashed Up In Cool Fan Anime

The October issues of Spawn (#266), was a very special issue for two key reasons. One, it marked the end of Erik Larsen's year-long on the series, which was a fruitful collaboration with fellow Image Comics' co-founder Todd McFarlane. Secondly, it was the start of an awesome crossover that featured Malcolm Dragon teaming up with the original Hellspawn, Al Simmons, for the first time.

In the crossover — which concluded in the October issue of Savage Dragon (#217) — Ant recruits Spawn and Malcom to help her take down a character known as The Mighty One, who was giving super-powers to people and many of them became super-villains. "Along the way to taking down The Mighty One, Malcolm and the others had a number of disagreements -- chief among which was just how The Mighty One should be handled," our own Russ Burlingame explained. "Malcolm, a police officer, believed he should be arrested and tried unless there was no other choice, while Spawn and Ant both favored just killing somebody who was a clear and present danger to the world at large. The fact that Spawn doesn't exactly trust cops likely didn't help bridge this disagreement...!"

Now, let's talk about that awesome video above. Inspired by McFarlane's variant cover for Spawn #266, which is a Spawn/Savage Dragon mashup, YouTuber DAETRIX created an animated version of it.
