Twin Peaks Revival To Start Filming In September

In what's being described as a shoot akin to "one long movie," Twin Peaks will start filming its next season/revival in September, Showtime announced today at the Television Critics Association.
Network executives balked at providing the press with too many details -- even as it pertains to the relatively simple question of how many episodes there will be.
Showtime boss David Nevins promised that "the people that you want will be there" and said that the episode count will be more than the originally-planned nine but is now "open-ended," according to Welcome to Twin Peaks.
The series, originally scheduled for 2016 and then quietly moved back to 2017 on promotional materials, doesn't yet have a film launch date. Nevins told reporters that he still hopes they can make 2016, but that he wants the series as badly as fans do. The implication seemed to be that because of that connection, he'd rather shoot for 2016 and plan for 2017 than continue to promise 2016 and under-deliver.
