Two American Horror Story Seasons Being Considered For 2016

The American Horror Story anthology has had the highest growth trajectory of any show in FX history. Last October, the premiere of Freak Show became themost-watched single program in FX's 20-year history with 13.36 million viewers. Since the series 2011 debut, American Horror Story has experienced a 148% rise in total viewers. That is why FX and series co-creator Ryan Murphy are seriously considering doubling down on the anthology series in 2016.
"Next year we might do a fall American Horror Story and a spring," Murphy told Entertainment Weekly. "We have to decide."
Murphy added, "We're doing something that we've never done before on the show where we're doing two different groups of writers rooms. Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we're crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark."
American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere October 7 on FX.
