Viz Will Release Special Dragon Ball Super, Boruto Manga On Free Comic Book Day 2017

There's nothing comic book fans like to hear more than the word 'free.' Comic issues can be expensive these days, and readers find it more and more difficult to get their hands on stories. The same goes double for manga enthusiasts; Not only are prices increasing for manga chapters but there is the added need for translations and licensing.

But, if you read series like Dragon Ball Super and Boruto, then you are in luck. Thanks to Viz Media, a special manga containing the two series will be released at no-charge on Free Comic Book Day next year.

"Dragon Ball Super: Ever since Goku became Earth's greatest hero and gathered the seven Dragon Balls to defeat the evil Boo, his life on Earth has grown a little dull. But new threats loom overhead, and Goku and his friends will have to defend the planet once again in this continuation of Akira Toriyama's best-selling series, Dragon Ball!"

"Boruto: Years have passed since Naruto and Sasuke teamed up to defeat Kaguya, the progenitor of chakra and the greatest threat the ninja world has ever faced. Times are now peaceful and the new generation of shinobi have not experienced the same hardships as their parents. Perhaps that is why Boruto would rather play video games than train. However, one passion does burn deep in this ninja brat, and that is to defeat his neglectful father!"

If you are not familiar with either series, then it is time you get yourself acquainted. Dragon Ball Super debuted last year as an anime">anime continuation of Akira Toriyama's iconic franchise. The show has done well both domestically and abroad, leaving shows like One Piece to fight for ratings in Japan. A companion manga for Dragon Ball Super debuted a month after the show aired thanks to artist Toyotarou.

As for Boruto, the manga is a spin-off from Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto series. The new story tells the tales of Boruto Uzumaki as he tries to live up to his father. The boy is placed on a shinobi team alongside Sarada Uchiha and a boy named Mitsuki, and the trio of legacy characters are sent on all sorts of dramatic adventures.
