Anime Heroines Who'll Absolutely Crush You

In the world of shonen anime, there are plenty of strong heroes who could totally beat you down. From Son Goku to Naruto Uzumaki, the list of over-powered protagonists is a long one that needs no repetition. Yet, in the haze of fight-fueled testosterone, it seems like some of the strongest women in anime can get overlooked.

So, at ComicBook.com, we are fixing that now. In the following slides, you will run into some of anime's strongest characters. There biceps may not be massive, but don't judge the ladies by their slender physique. If you don't take them seriously, they will quite literally crush you.

Tsunade

There are few ladies in anime whose strength can match that of Senju Tsunade. The Naruto heroine may be known for her hefty bust, but the Fifth Hokage won't stand it if your stare lingers on her bosom. With chakra in tow, the blonde ninja can concentrate her power with minute precision and unleash it all at once. With just a flick of her finger, Tsunade can obliterate boulders and send enemies flying. And, if you stare at her chest, then you can kiss your pride goodbye; Just ask Jiraiya.

Yoruichi Shihoin

When it comes to speed and strength, Yoruichi cannot be beat. Fans of Bleach will be able to testify to the shinigami's insane battle prowess. While audiences may have first met her as a cat, Yoruichi's true power was unveiled when she transformed into a human to help Ichigo Kurosaki infiltrate the Soul Society. As a previous shinigami captain, Yoruichi was heralded for her unmatched speed, and her supernatural strength could put even Kenpachi to shame.

Erza Scarlet

Fairy Tail fans, you know that a fight is about to go down with Erza Scarlet gets ready to requip. In the shonen series, characters like Natsu may get glory for their fiery magic, but Erza is no pushover. As one of the top mages in the Fairy Tail guild, Erza is renowned for her beauty and armory. With more than 200 weapons in town, Erza is the definition of an expert swordsman. Erza is a master tactician with a strict moral code - and the wizard will use all of her insane endurance to ensure her friends are safe.

Android 18

Dragon Ball Z may feature lots of beefy male character, but Android 18 can put plenty of them in her place. In fact, she already has. The rational, super-strong character shows up other female fighters in the series like Videl with ease. Created by Dr. Gero, Android 18 is one of several androids created specifically to take out Goku. The character has fought against Vegeta, Trunks, and even Goten - and she came out on the other side.

Sakura Haruno

There's nothing anime fans like more than a comeback story, and Sakura Haruno has one in spades. The pink-haired ninja is one of the three heroes of Naruto, but fans were not too thrilled with her in the start. The little girl was too busy fawning over her crush to practice, but Sakura eventually made a stunning turnaround. After studying with Tsunade, Sakura became a ninja who surpassed her mentor to everyone's shock. Even Kakashi admitted Sakura's knack for genjutsu and taijutsu made her a superior warrior, and Sakura was not afraid to debut her earth-shattering strength in battle.
