Attack On Titan Season 2 Announces New Opening Theme Title

03/06/2017 05:20 pm EST

When an episode of Attack on Titan comes on, you can pick it out instantly. The anime's opening theme has become an iconic one in the fandom thanks to its intense lyrics and heavy-metal aesthetic. Back in 2013, the band Linked Horizon brought the single "Crimson Bow and Arrow" to life as Attack on Titan's first theme song before "Wings of Freedom" followed up the anthemic tune.

Next month, Attack on Titan will return to TV as the anime brings out its long-awaited second season. Linked Horizon previously confirmed they would return to the franchise to record a new opening theme for its comeback. And, now, the band has announced what the song's title is.

Over on Twitter, Linked Horizon broke the news that season two's opening will be titled "Dedicate All Your Hearts!" The single will make its debut on April 1st with the anime's return, and it is set to go on-sale two hours after.

So far, there is no word on whether Attack on Titan will receive a second opening theme when it returns next month. For the first season of Attack on Titan, the 26-episode stint featured two openings by Linked Horizon. Fans expect the second season to feature a similar episode order, so it seems likely Linked Horizon may provide yet another song to the anime.

The synopsis for Attack on Titan's new season can be read below:

"Eren Jaeger swore to wipe out every last Titan, but in a battle for his life he wound up becoming the thing he hates most. With his new powers, he fights for humanity's freedom facing the monsters that threaten his home. After a bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest—a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues!"

If you are not familiar with Attack on Titan, then you should know the popular anime is renowned for its intense action and gritty storylines. The anime follows a boy named Eren Yeager in an alternate world overrun by massive creatures known as Titans. These mindless beasts have all but wiped out humanity, and mankind is left to cower in fear behind massive walls. When their sanctum is infiltrated by a slew of Titans, Eren and his friends Armin and Mikasa join the military to help eradicate the blood-thirty monsters. But, as they grow older, they learn that the beasts are not what they appear as long-held government conspiracies make themselves known.
