Attack On Titan Season 2 English Dub Preview Will Traumatize You

At the beginning of April, the anime fandom was thrown into a familiar war when Attack on Titan made its long-awaited comeback. The tense series debuted its second season after more than two years, and its premiere episode left fans feeling sick thanks to one grisly death. As usual, Attack on Titan spared no expense in killing off one of the fans' favorite soldiers when they came face-to-face with a special new Titan. And, now, U.S. fans can finally watch the harrowing ordeal in English.

Over on Youtube, the folks behind AnimeLab have released their first preview of Attack on Titan's English dub. The series is being dubbed simultaneously with its release in Japan, and the first episode of season two was just put online. "We're extremely excited to reveal that the new English simulcast dub of Attack on Titan Season 2 is now streaming on AnimeLab," the site captioned its new clip.

In the scene, fans are given a chance to hear the Beast Titan's English voice, and feelings are mixed about the dub so far. The Japanese take on the character is much more ominous than its docile English counterpart, but fans soon forgot the controversy when Mike Zacharius was brutally eaten alive. Hearing the beloved squad leader take his futile last stand against the tyrannical Titan was hard to swallow in Japanese but hearing it in English is even more difficult.

You can check out the scene above. That is, if you have the stomach for it.

The synopsis for Attack on Titan's new season can be read below:

These mindless beasts have all but wiped out humanity, and mankind is left to cower in fear behind massive walls. When their sanctum is infiltrated by a slew of Titans, Eren and his friends Armin and Mikasa join the military to help eradicate the blood-thirty monsters. But, as they grow older, they learn that the beasts are not what they appear as long-held government conspiracies make themselves known.
