Naruto Shippuden may have finally closed its doors, but the franchise is far from over. In just over a week, a brand-new anime will make its entrance into Naruto's canon universe. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is set to follow Konoha's new ninja as they adapt to a more peaceful world and learn about their parents' legendary profiles. The anime will follow Boruto Uzumaki specifically as the boy enters the ninja academy and grapples with being known as the Hokage's son.

So, naturally, there is a bit of resentment between Boruto and his beloved father. The folks behind the new anime want fans to know the boy has some tense feelings about Naruto, so they made sure the show's newest teaser emphasized it. And, boy - it did so with more obtuse bluntness than Rock Lee ever could.

In the second teaser trailer for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, fans can watch the ninja-in-training give them lip about Naruto. "It's not about being the Hokage's son or about my stupid dad! This is my story, ya know!" Boruto says as he winds his way through Konoha's tech-savvy streets.

Of course, fans of Naruto will have expected Boruto to act like this. The anime series is set before Boruto: Naruto The Movie, so the boy hasn't come to terms with his father's legacy at this point. When the show begins, Boruto won't even be a genin yet, so the chip on his shoulder may be too heavy to bear with grace just yet.

He'll get there though; Just give it some time. In the trailer, fans can also hear Boruto clearly say "dattebayo" so there is hope for the blonde-headed brat yet.
