'Dragon Ball Super' Shares First Look At Goku & Jiren's Battle

It's almost time, Dragon Ball fans. After months of hype, it's time to get your first look at Goku's much-anticipated battle with Jiren.

Earlier tonight, Dragon Ball Super released its 108th episode, and it ended with a preview for the show's next episode. When the anime returns in October, Dragon Ball Super will do so with a one-hour special highlighting Goku and Jiren. And, as you can see above, the Universe 11 warrior is in a league of his own.

The footage begins with a rather stunning scene. Jiren is seen flinging Goku around mid-air before the Saiyan is sent flying to the arena, leaving a smoking crater in the ground. Goku, who has already gone Super Saiyan Blue, then shoots of ki blasts at Jiren but the attacks fail to land.

The preview takes a moment of reprieve when it switches back to Ribrianne. The magical girl is seen fighting Goku, but the hero doesn't appear to power out of his base form to fight the sparkly warrior. Goku appears to only put forth energy when it comes to Jiren, but the Saiyan's best may not be enough.

As the preview ends, fans are left with a shocking image. Jiren is seen staring down a Spirit Bomb made by Goku. The Saiyan has powered up his Super Saiyan Blue form by multiplying his Kaio-Ken levels to twenty, but Jiren does not appear phased by the attack. If anything, he looks more than ready to take the attack head-on.

Dragon Ball Super has hyped up Goku's battle with Jiren for some time now, but don't expect the battle to end the Tournament of Power. The match is only meant to usher in the arc's most action-packed moments. Goku will get more time to thoroughly explore his upcoming transformation once he gets used to its strain. When that happens, Jiren will finally have someone to truly fear.
