Dragon Ball Super: A Major Villain Is Coming Back To Team Up With Goku

For those of you keeping up with Dragon Ball Super, you know the anime series is gearing up for some major action. The 'Universal Survival' arc kicked off back in February, and the show upcoming episodes will get Goku's team ready to fight. After the Saiyan fights Mystic Gohan next week, fans will get to see Universe 7 assemble its pre-determined team for the Tournament of Power. Or, well, that's what fan thought.

Thanks to a new set of anime synopses, fans have confirmed that Dragon Ball Super is about to drop a major bomb on fans. Goku's super squad is going to lose out on a member fans thought was shoo-in. And, in the hero's place, a rather famous villain will fill in his shoes.

So, let's all give Freeza a warm welcome back!

Today, Animedia released its latest issue, and the Japanese magazine contained several new episode synopses for Dragon Ball Super. However, it is episode 93's description which has got fans buzzing. Thanks to translator Todd Blankenship, fans know the episode intends to replace Mr. Buu with Freeza in this stunning story. You can check out the synopsis for "You're the 10th Warrior! Goku Visits Freeza!!" below:

"After seeing with his own eyes that Buu won't awaken no matter what, Goku suggests recruiting Freeza as the 10th member. While everyone objects, Goku hurries to ask Fortuneteller Baba to resurrect Freeza from Hell for just 24 hours."

Right now, fans are sharing their reactions to the switch-up, and they are split on the new team addition. Many had grown excited to see Mr. Buu fight in the Tournament of Power, so they are frustrated to see the character get shafted. However, many are interested to see Freeza team up with Goku rather than try to destroy him. The pair have been villains for years, and Freeza has consistently failed to take the Saiyan down. With Universe 7 in danger, Freeza may agree to help out the team for purely selfish reasons, but the Z-Fighters would be smart to watch their backs. There's no telling what kind of plans Freeza has up his sleeves.

Dragon Ball Super's "Universal Survival" saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
