Yu-Gi-Oh! Star Teases Huge Yugi, Kaiba Duel In The Dark Side Of Dimensions

In the world of voice acting, there are plenty of actors who are considered mainstays in the profession. For Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, Dan Green is that star, and fans have come to love the actor's dub for Yugi Muto. Over the years, Green has become well-known for voicing characters in franchises like Sonice the Hedgehog and even Mobile Suit Gundam. Now, the actor has had the chance to return to Yugi for a brand-new feature film. And, after a long wait, Green is spilling details about why fans must see Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side Of Dimensions when it hits U.S. theaters.

During a recent interview, Green spoke candidly about his work on the new film and was asked why fans should be hyped for the project. The actor answered easily, saying audiences will not want to miss an exciting duel between Kaiba and Yugi.

"Fans should be excited to see The Dark Side of Dimensions because - finally - we get Kaiba and Yugi dueling each other in a huge way," Green said. "We get to see who really is the better duelist."

Of course, fans of the franchise are more than familiar with Kaiba and Yugi's on-going rivalry. The former may be the heir to one of the anime's largest companies, but Kaiba has a massive complex when it comes to Yugi. In the anime, the two boys often clash in battle, but few of the encounters ever see Yugi take on Kaiba solo. Thanks to his connection with Atem, Yami tends to make an appearance during duels, a fact that leaves Kaiba infuriated and hung up on the Egyptian spirit.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side Of Dimensions, fans will see Kaiba go on a journey as he tries to bring Yami back for a final duel. But, when it comes down to it, the snarky high-roller will find himself going card-to-card against Yugi alone. Unsurprisingly, it sounds like the showdown is one that fans will not want to miss.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side Of Dimensions will screen in U.S. theaters on January 27, 2017. In Spring 2017, a new Yu-Gi-Oh! anime is also set to hit televisions thanks to TV Tokyo. The new series will follow a hero named Yūsaku Fujiki as he enters the dangerous world of Duel Monsters.
